Lt. Jean Marie Barnett – AANS

Jean was born in the country town of Delungra ( true or false) and when WW11 broke out, and at the tender age of 25, Jean enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) on the 24 October 1942, and was attached to the 2/5 Australian General Hospital.

 

Jean served with the Unit in several theatres of war; - New Guinea and Morotai.

 

And even after peace was declared, Jean continued with the Unit and she was finally discharged 28 May 1946.
